STRAIGHT, NO CHASER is a weekly, Thursday-night Jazz series presenting classic NYC piano trio music from LA Jazz pianists who are either NYC ex-patriates or have a serious connection to NYC. We strive to play in the style of our idols and mentors in NYC, greats like Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan, Barry Harris, Kenny Barron, Cedar Walton, Mulgrew Miller and all the great pianists who defined piano-trio music in New York in recent decades. And the Tap Room, with it's oak walls, classic styling, and assuredly "grown-up" vibe, provides the perfect setting. And "Straight, No Chaser" (apart from being the title of a classic Monk blues) alludes to the FREE top shelf tasting that happens every Thursday as well. So you can sample a Spirit while tapping your feet.
